Jesus Up Close and Personal #5 – The Last Word On Judgment – Matthew 25

Categories: Sermon

Pastor Bill speaks from Matthew 25:31-46.

It is important to tie this passage in with Matthew 10.

This is not a judgment based on works, but upon one’s acceptance and treatment of God’s messengers. In other words, these are all related questions: Was the Gospel of Christ received? Were the messengers of Christ’s Gospel received? Was Christ received?

He gathers all the nations before Him and separates people, not by ethnicity but by a different standard.  The distinguishing mark of the ones receiving God’s favour here is that they are righteous, as described in 6 different works of mercy toward His disciples, His little ones.  Reward or punishment are declared, both eternal in nature.

Here is a call also for Christians to be bold and spread this wonderful message.
